On Monday I fixed Scooby-Doo's hair (dog-ear pony-tails) and repeatedly wiped Shaggy's nose...
Today I was Queen Florence of the Royal Castle with Pink Roofs; mother to Princess Francis, Prince, and Princess Tasha. Our King's name...Father. The 'game' as it was called, was complete with "royal accidents (accents)", princess stickers, and a birthday ball and presents for Princess Francis.
Oh to be a child again...I think my mind yearns to have an outlet like that of a child, yet I never let myself fully go there (except for my strange-slightly-close-to-reality-dreams). I play along with the kids on the surface, inserting the proper "oh" and "yes" when cued. But wouldn't it be great to just dive in and really believe I am Queen Florence for an afternoon. Maybe I'll try it sometime. Or maybe I'll just read the twilight books again...

You'll always be a Queen to me! =)
Hee hee! Make-believe makes everything go so much better... even CHORES! :)
There are some days when I totally "dive in and really believe". I have to.
(Oh, and I'm totally calling you "Queen Florence" the next time I see you!)
You always were very good at make believe. I remember playing Beauty Shop with you... was I a little old to be doing so?
Ahh, oh well. We are all kids at heart. As you have so proven! Love you T!
yes... and why is it so exhausting to me to dive in??? like it's so hard to spend time with my kids. glad you had fun.
Sounds like you are the best mom around! I can't wait to play all the "girlie" games with Myka. Carsen wants top lay ninjas and cars...I don't really know how to play these games, and I think he gets fed up with my lack of enthusiasm!
I'm glad I now know your blog....Now I can watch your kids grow-up, instead of just seeing them maybe once a year!
